Common customer questions
What information should I provide when requesting service?
Share your city or ZIP code, the service you need, the type of property or vehicle, and what happened. For vehicles, include the year, make, and model. Photos of lock hardware can help with an initial assessment, but do not send keys, lock combinations, alarm codes, or identity documents through the website.
What proof is required before a lockout is opened?
The requester must establish authorization to enter the home, vehicle, or business. Depending on the situation, that may include photo identification plus registration, a lease, ownership documents, company credentials, or confirmation from an authorized owner or manager. If your identification is locked inside, explain that before dispatch.
Can you give a final price over the phone?
We can discuss a starting price and the factors likely to affect the total. A final price may require inspection because hardware type, condition, access, required parts, vehicle compatibility, travel, and the actual scope can differ from the initial description. The scope and expected total should be confirmed before work begins.
Will opening a lock damage it?
No responsible locksmith can promise a damage-free opening before examining the lock and surrounding hardware. The available method depends on the lock type, condition, security features, and any existing damage. Replacement should be discussed only when it is actually needed.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
Rekeying changes which keys operate compatible, serviceable locks while keeping the existing hardware. Replacement may be more appropriate when hardware is worn, damaged, incompatible, or no longer meets the desired security or access needs. An on-site inspection can clarify the practical options.
Can several locks work with one key?
Often, but only when the cylinders, keyways, and lock types are compatible. Count the locks and photograph any brand markings before requesting service so the options can be assessed.
What vehicle details are needed for a key or fob?
Provide the exact year, make, model, trim if known, key style, and whether any working key remains. Key blanks, chips, frequencies, and programming procedures vary, so compatibility must be confirmed before dispatch or parts are promised.
Where does ATLocksmith provide mobile service?
The core area is centered on Dunwoody and nearby north-metro communities, with additional coverage across north and central Atlanta when technician availability, travel time, and the job type allow. A dispatcher must confirm the exact location before service is scheduled.
Can customers visit your business address?
No. ATLocksmith LLC is a mobile service-area business. The operating address is private, is not a storefront, and is not open for customer visits.
Are finished services refundable?
Payment is due after the customer-approved work is finished. Because locksmith labor is performed on-site and cannot be returned, finished services are not refundable solely because of a change of mind. This policy does not limit any rights provided by applicable law. If you believe the finished work differs from the approved scope or has a workmanship problem, contact ATLocksmith LLC promptly so we can review the concern. Manufacturer warranties, when available, govern eligible parts.
If a child, vulnerable person, or animal is locked in a vehicle, or there is a fire, medical emergency, or immediate safety threat, contact 911 first.
